Kirkland Signature Saut Pans with Glass Lids Sold at Costco Recalled by Meyer Marketing Due to Laceration Hazard

The following product safety recall was voluntarily conducted by the firm in cooperation with the CPSC. Consumers should stop using the product immediately unless otherwise instructed. It is illegal to resell or attempt to resell a recalled consumer product.

Name of Product: Kirkland Signature Six-Quart Saut Pans with glass lids

Units: About 12,900

Distributor: Meyer Marketing Co. Ltd, of Macau

Hazard: The pans tempered glass lid can crack, break or shatter, posing a laceration hazard to consumers.

Incidents/Injuries: Meyer has received 97 reports of the pans glass lids breaking or shattering. No injuries have been reported.

Description: This recall involves Kirkland Signature six-quart, black, hard-anodized aluminum saut pans with glass lids. The tempered glass lids have a stainless steel rim and handle. The pan is about 3 inches deep and the pan and lid each measure about 12 inches in diameter. Kirkland Signature, 6 QT/5.6 L and Made in Thailand are printed on the bottom of the saut pan.

Sold exclusively at: Costco Wholesale stores in the San Francisco Bay area and in the Northeast from May 2012 through October 2012 for about $35.

Manufactured in: Thailand

Remedy: Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled pans and glass lids and return them to any Costco store for a full refund. Costco is contacting its customers directly.
