Our Programs

Our centers are dedicated to creating a warm and engaging environment that promotes the growth and development of every child in our care. From the earliest days in our infant program, designed to provide a secure and stimulating atmosphere, to the adventurous explorations in our toddler and preschool programs, we lay the groundwork for a lifelong love of learning. Each program is carefully tailored to meet the developmental needs and milestones of its age group, ensuring a seamless transition as your child grows.

As children advance to our pre-kindergarten and school-age programs, our focus shifts to reinforcing their independence, social skills, and academic readiness, all within a framework that’s aligned with the New York State Pre-Kindergarten Benchmarks and the Common Core Learning Standards. Our ‘center based’ classrooms offer a variety of learning centers designed to foster cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development. At Learn As You Grow, we believe in the power of purposeful play and the importance of creating a clean, safe, and healthy learning environment where every child can thrive and cultivate a lifelong passion for discovery and learning.

Infant Program

Birth-18 months: For many of our families, this is where the Learn As You Grow experience begins.  We provide our infants with a warm and nurturing atmosphere where they feel safe and cared for. We feel it is important for infants to discover in a clean, safe, healthy, developmentally appropriate learning environment. Our infant staff offers a variety of experiences in an infant’s everyday routine, which includes soft music, conversation, literature, tummy time, and a variety of toys.

Communication is very important in our program. Our infant staff communicates with parents at drop off and pick up times as well as through your child’s individual daily notebook. These individual notebooks document your infants feeding and sleep routines, and generally how their day was. Parents are encouraged to write in this notebook as another form of communication with our staff including milestones your child has reached.

Toddler Program

18 months-3 years: Our goal at Learn As You Grow is to provide our toddlers with a clean, safe, healthy, developmentally appropriate learning environment where they are encouraged to explore their feelings of independence and autonomy.

A practical, hands-on learning environment is essential in developing a positive self image, encouraging independence, developing social skills, learning to share, hand-eye coordination, fine and gross motor skills, encouraging language development, and beginning problem solving skills. We achieve these goals through imaginative play, story telling, art activities, sharing time and exploring the outdoors. We look forward to watching your toddler grow and change every day!

Language development is also beginning to take shape at this age. We encourage this development through conversation, singing songs, and echoing the children’s feeling. As a toddler’s language develops, so does their ability to begin to problem solve. We encourage independence and self help skills in this classroom as the children are able to wash their own hands, brush their own teeth and begin to pick up their toys.

Potty training will begin soon for many of the toddlers. Although children potty train at their own pace, you and your child’s teacher work together to provide the best environment for success. We work with every child on an individual basis when they are developmentally ready to begin using the bathroom.

Preschool Program

3 year olds: Our goal at Learn As You Grow is to provide our preschooler’s with a clean, safe, healthy, developmentally appropriate learning environment where they are encouraged to develop a life long love of learning.

Our classrooms are ‘center based’ with theme related activities in learning centers designed to encourage children’s cognitive, social, emotional and physical development. Children have the opportunity to participate in shared and independent learning experiences. Each day these experiences will include reading, math, science, art, construction, transportation, sensory, and imaginative play.

Our educational curriculum promotes conversation and language development while building social skills, promoting independence, developing a positive self-concept, enhancing pre-math and pre-reading skills and encouraging creativity. Our day begins and ends with a circle time. This time is a great way to encourage language development, teach children how to take turns and promote cognitive thinking.

School Age-2
School Age Program

Kindergarten-12 years old: Our goal at Learn As You Grow is to provide our School Age children with a clean, safe, healthy, developmentally appropriate learning environment where they are encouraged to develop a life long love of learning.

Our classrooms are ‘center based’ with theme related activities in learning centers designed to encourage children’s cognitive, social, emotional and physical development.  We understand that school age children have a variety of needs after a busy day at school.  Some children need to relax, some need to begin their homework, and some need to stretch their muscles.
